ASUS and Centennial School introduce a new way to capture and explore learning through technology.
With many schooling systems moving to have modern technology as part of their new curriculum incorporating robotics, coding amongst a few, there is a growing need for students to have access to devices that can aid them in completing schooling in a new technical era.
ASUS Partnering with Centennial schools on a venture to bridge the gap of technology and education, to assist with the vision of Centennial schools which is to simply “provide students with a holistic education that uses technological advancements, encourage lateral thinking and teach skills they can take forward into the ever-changing future.”
A
school hoping to open its doors in Sunninghill, Johannesburg, next year plans to offer esports as part of its
extracurricular bouquet.
Centennial Schools is set to launch in early 2022. Founder Shaun Fuchs believes esports will form part of a more
holistic approach to education for them, to prepare young people for an increasingly technology-rich future.
The
school will have a Gaming Centre and Arena, measuring more than 300 square metres. It aims equip students with
the skills and knowledge to compete in lucrative professional esports leagues, should they wish to pursue this
more seriously beyond graduating.
Country manager : Tolga Ozdil (ASUS South Africa) said they attracted ASUS as a partner, along with Republic of
Gamers.
Fuchs, an entrepreneur, author and public speaker, was previously a general manager at Crawford Schools and the
Centurus Colleges Group, and also served as the managing director of Reddam House Schools.
His vision for Centennial Schools includes the seamless integration of technology into teaching and
learning.
Along with ASUS and ROG, the availability of technology within this school has become a possibility for the
leaners to embark on their schooling career and further their horizons in a new technical era.
