[Notebook] Getting to know the touch screen
Touch screen gestures allow you to execute your application and access to the settings of your computer. Each function can be activated by using the touch gesture on the touch screen.(The below picture is for reference only, the actual screen of the touch screen panel depends on the models)
If you would like to enable / disable the touch screen function, please refer to How to enable / disable the touch screen function.
Gesture | Action | Description |
Left edge swipe | Swipe from the left edge of the screen to launch Task view. | |
Right edge swipe | Swipe from the right edge of the screen to launch Action Center. | |
Tap/Double-tap | Tap an app to select it. Double-tap an app to launch it. | |
Press and hold | Press and hold to open the right-click menu. | |
Zoom in | Spread apart your two fingers on the touch screen panel. | |
Zoom out | Bring together your two fingers on the touch screen panel. | |
Finger slide | Slide your finger to scroll up and down and slide your finger to pan the screen left or right. | |
Drag | Drag to create a selection box around multiple items. Drag and drop an item to move it to a new location. |
How to enable / disable the touch screen function
Please go to the corresponding instruction based on the current Windows operating system on your computer:
- Type and search [Device Manager] in the Windows search bar①, then click [Open]②.
- Check on the arrow next to [Human Interface Devices]③, then right-click on the [HID-compliant touch screen]④ and select [Disable device]⑤.
- The system requests whether you really want to disable it. Select [Yes]⑥, then the touch screen function will be turned off.
If you would like to turn on the touch screen function in the future, right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen and then select [Enable device].
- Type and search [Device Manager] in the Windows search bar①, then click [Open]②.
- Check on the arrow next to [Human Interface Devices]③, then right-click on the [HID-compliant touch screen]④ and select [Disable device]⑤.
- The system requests whether you really want to disable it. Select [Yes]⑥, then the touch screen function will be turned off.
If you would like to turn on the touch screen function in the future, right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen and then select [Enable device].
