The Artist’s Design

The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Steven Harrington edition is full of Steven's motifs. The artist used a bright palette of colors, with vivid shades of green, pink, blue, yellow, and others, to create an interesting, standout look for the laptop. And these colors look amazing on the OLED screen as well!

The Mello character and the palm trees typical of Steven Harrington’s art are displayed on the box. The laptop case and kickstand back cover are also covered with psychedelic motifs. Unboxing the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Steven Harrington Edition

Starting with the box, you are already immersed in the psychedelic world of Steven Harrington's art. The box is made with eco-friendly materials and comes in a matte-white color, and is adorned with Steven's doodles in black and white.

When you open the box, the first thing you will likely notice is a recyclability symbol on the inside of the box’s lid, in shades of green, reimagined in a typical Harrington-esque fashion, along with Steven’s signature and the laptop name.

A transparent window reveals the laptop safety packaging in a modern, silver color and featuring an ASUS Vivobook and Steven Harrington collaboration tag. On the transparent window, you’ll also find a familiar palm tree and a script describing the design. Taking the laptop out of the protective packaging, you will notice the device itself, with the ErgoSense keyboard (also adorned with Harrington’s designs) attached.

About Philip Colbert

Philip Colbert is a Scottish-born Neo Pop Surrealism icon. Often referred to as the “godson of Andy Warhol”, he is famous for his cartoonish red lobster persona and eggs motifs.

Philip’s work has gained global recognition, and his art has been exhibited in galleries all around the world. Usually under the name of Lobsteropolis or Lobster Land, the exhibitions are always immersive and surreal experiences that combine 2D and 3D designs in plenty of creative formats.

The Artist’s Design

The Philip Colbert Edition of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is defined by the signature Colbert aesthetic. The red lobster clad in an egg-patterned blue suit appears everywhere on this laptop, starting from the box.

The base color of the laptop's body is matte black, and the accessories fit those aesthetics as well. The Philip Colbert-designed magnetic back cover that doubles down as a kickstand is adorned with the egg motif also featured on the lobster's suit. On the other half, a cargo net in either red or yellow color (they're interchangeable, you can pick one you like better) is as much of an aesthetic choice as a practical detail. You can use the net to carry accessories such as a mouse or ASUS Pen 2.0. In the package, you will also find charms that can be attached to the net for additional decoration.

The inside of the kickstand is also adorned with Philip Colbert's red lobster and logotype for a consistent look.

The detachable ErgoSense keyboard that doubles down as a screen cover comes with a signature red lobster and Colbert logotype sketch in red on a matte black background on the cover side — the one that’s visible when the laptop is closed. The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Philip Colbert Edition has a clear Colbert identity to it, starting with the box. As soon as you receive the laptop, you will see a sophisticated graphic designed by Philip Colbert right on the lid. In addition, you can scan the QR code on the box to enter the digital world of Philip Colbert on the Decentraland.

The first thing you will notice when opening the box is the large Mr. Lobster character drawing on the top lid, alongside Philip Colbert’s logotype and a quote.

Below, you’ll find the laptop in a transparent window box. Inside the box, there is a protective sleeve that houses the laptop. There is also the cover stand, a set of keyboard stickers, and a box with a warranty card.

When you take the laptop out of the sleeve the first thing you'll see is the red lobster sketch on the ErgoSense Keyboard.
