Las Vegas, CES (January 7, 2019) - ASUS today announced three new additions to the VivoBook family: the 14-inch VivoBook 14 (X412), the 15.6-inch VivoBook 15 (X512), and the 17.3-inch VivoBook 17 (X712). VivoBook 14 and VivoBook 15 feature frameless four-sided NanoEdge displays with at least an 87% screen-to-body ratio (on VivoBook 14) for immersive viewing. Meanwhile, VivoBook 17 has a slim-bezel display with an 85% screen-to-body ratio. The incredibly slim bezel allows a large display to fit into a smaller chassis, effectively reducing the laptop footprint for a more compact and portable machine. These laptops are powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor with up to NVIDIA® GeForce® MX130 discrete graphics, and include the ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard to replicate the feel of a desktop keyboard for a more comfortable typing experience. VivoBook 14 and VivoBook 15 are available in four colors so users can select one that best express themselves. There are classics such as Transparent Silver and Slate Grey, iridescent Peacock Blue, which changes color tone depending on how light strikes the laptop surface, and the eye-catching Coral Crush.

Unrivaled immersion with the four-sided frameless NanoEdge display

The four-sided frameless NanoEdge design gives VivoBook 14 and VivoBook 15 bezels that are only 5.7mm thin, giving screen-to-body ratios of up to 87% and 88% respectively. VivoBook 17 also has a slim-bezel display with a slightly smaller 85% screen-to-body ratio. The FHD panels also feature wide-view technology and exceptional color reproduction for lifelike visuals even when viewed from extreme positions. The NanoEdge display gives VivoBook a smaller footprint that makes the laptop much more portable without sacrificing screen size.

Powerful Intel Core CPU and dual-storage design

VivoBook 14 and VivoBook 15 are powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX130 discrete graphics. They have dual-storage designs that can be specified with up to a 256GB SSD and 2TB HDD. VivoBook 14, 15, and 17 also support Intel Optane™ memory, which intelligently accelerates hard disk performance, speeds up multitasking and app loading times, and reduces boot-up and resume times.

In addition, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ac) connections provide speeds of up to 867Mbps — 6X-faster¹ than 802.11n — for seamless video-streaming, and smooth web-surfing. VivoBook also features Bluetooth® 4.2.

Designed with comfort in mind

The new VivoBook 14 (as well as the previously announced X420) features the amazing new NumberPad — a novel solution to the lack of a dedicated numeric keypad on small laptops. In normal use, NumberPad is a large glass-covered Windows Precision Touchpad with multi-gesture support. A tap of the NumberPad icon on the touchpad turns it into an LED-illuminated keypad with a familiar layout for easy data entry.
