[NUC] Solid State Drives Are Not Detected by My NUC
Resolution
This issue is caused by the drive or NUC, follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Drive cannot be detected in BIOS.
- Update BIOS to the latest version.
- Set BIOS to default.
- Press F2 during boot to enter the BIOS setup.
- Press F9 to set defaults.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Update firmware of the SSD, refer to How to Update the Firmware Using the SSD Firmware Update Tool. Contact the manufacturer of the drive for firmware updating if the drive is 3rd party brand.
- Test a different drive. If the other drive is not detected, contact Customer Support
Drive can be detected in BIOS but not the Operating System.
- Try another drive (preferably of the same model) on the system.
- If the other drive is working, contact Customer Support
If the issue still persists and if the SSD drive is still not detected, you can try to downgrade the BIOS version. However, downgrading the BIOS can break features and remove security patches that are included with the latest BIOS version so ASUS doesn't recommend BIOS downgrades.
