[NUC] HDMI CEC Information for NUC
Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) via HDMI allows you to control some functions of your NUC using your TV remote.
Two types of CEC are available depending on your NUC model: onboard CEC or external CEC.

Onboard CEC
The following NUC Kits have the above external CEC header and an onboard HDMI CEC controller that the BIOS controls. The onboard HDMI CEC controller only supports bidirectional power on/off control:

Note | Update the BIOS of your NUC to the latest version to access the BIOS settings related to onboard CEC. |
To view or change the onboard HDMI CEC settings:
- Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
- Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
- In the Legacy Device Configuration pane, enable HDMI CEC Control.
BIOS Setting | Description | Notes |
TV HDMI Port | Configures the HDMI port on the TV that the NUC is connected to. Choices:

Auto Turn On TV | Determines what happens to the TV when the NUC is turned on or resumes from a sleep state.

Auto Turn Off TV | Determines what happens to the TV when the NUC goes to sleep or is shut down.

Wake On TV | Determines what happens to the NUC when the TV is turned on.

Standby by TV | Determines what happens to the NUC when TV is turned off.

External CEC
An external CEC adapter connects to the CEC header on the motherboard. The header is Molex* part number 53398-0471, with a pinout as follows:
