ROG Theta: 7.1 surround-sound, USB-C gaming headset
Building on the popularity of ROG Centurion, our rave-reviewed gaming headset, ROG Theta is a brand-new set of cans that employs eight discrete drivers and the industry's first virtual-subwoofer technology to deliver 7.1 surround sound directly to gamers' ears. Revered ASUS Essence drivers are supported by virtual subwoofers to create an enveloping soundstage with deep bass, providing especial immersion.
Theta also benefits from an AI-powered noise-cancelling microphone – another industry first. This employs machine-learning techniques to identify and cancel out 50-million varieties of external sound while accurately detecting and retaining the user's speech, ensuring clear in-game voice communication and chat.
With an ESS SABRE9601 quad amp and exclusive, ROG-customized 7.1 DAC – which is the same as that used in high-end ROG motherboards – to deliver home-theater-grade output, Theta provides exceptional lossless audio.
ROG Theta Electret: Hi-fi 3.5mm gaming headset
ROG Theta Electret is the second new gaming headset that we're introducing at Computex 2019. Marking yet another gaming-industry first, Theta Electret combines high-fidelity electret drivers with dynamic subwoofers to deliver impeccable sound quality in all listening scenarios – creating true-to-life stereo audio underscored by strong and punchy bass.
Theta Electret is built with an audiophile mindset and oozes hi-fi quality. The 3.5mm connecting cable is constructed from silver-plated copper wire, supporting high-frequency sound reproduction and ensuring excellent fidelity for all audio types. A 3.5mm-6.3mm jack adapter is supplied, making it easy for gamers to connect Theta Electret to their own hi-fi setup. The new headset also has an integrated boom, certified by both TeamSpeak and Discord, for clear in-game voice communications.
ROG Strix XG17: First-ever portable gaming monitor with 240Hz refresh rate
Mobile GPUs are now able to drive AAA at superb frame rates, but serious gamers crave more than 60Hz, as the esports arena demands higher performance to facilitate quick reactions. That's why high-refresh displays are standard for both practice and competitive play, and where ROG Strix XG17 steps up.
Designed for ultra-competitive gamers that wish to hone their skills on the move, Strix XG17 is a portable 17.3-inch IPS Full HD (FHD) panel delivering a blistering 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, making it the fastest portable display in the world. With both micro-HDMI and Type-C connectivity, the portable display is compatible with all kinds of devices – from smartphone and tablets to laptops and games consoles.
Strix XG17 weighs a mere 800 grams and has a built-in battery that supports up to three hours of 240Hz operation off a single charge. Downtime is minimized thanks to fast-charging support, with a one-hour top-up sufficient to power the panel for 2.7 hours.
