[Healthcare system] Important considerations for wearing ASUS VivoWatch 6
ASUS carefully selects materials for the VivoWatch, ensuring quality and compliance through rigorous research and adherence to regulations. However, some users may experience skin allergies from prolonged contact with specific metals, influenced by individual sensitivity, environmental factors, or extended exposure to irritants or allergens.
With a commitment to crafting top-of-the-line smartwatches, ASUS thoroughly evaluates and tests each material choice for the VivoWatch. All products adhere to stringent standards, including Allergy Prevention (ISO10993 Biocompatibility), Optical Safety (IEC/EN 62471 Photobiological Safety Testing), and (IEC60601-1 3rd Basic Safety of Medical Equipment).
Wearing wearable devices like the VivoWatch may heighten the risk of allergic reactions for users with allergies or skin sensitivities. Consider the following precautions:
(1) Remove the ASUS VivoWatch periodically to allow your skin to breathe.
(2) Maintain cleanliness and dryness of your wrist to reduce the likelihood of skin allergies.
(3) Regularly clean the watch body and strap to prevent irritation from sweat, soap, lotion, or other residues.
(4) Despite rigorous material selection based on biocompatibility testing, some users may still experience allergic reactions. If you have sensitive skin, monitor closely for reactions during the initial three days of wear. In case of severe reactions, like itching, consult a doctor before wearing the VivoWatch.
(5) If you notice any adverse reactions, such as redness, swelling, or itching, remove the VivoWatch immediately and seek medical advice before resuming wear.
(6) Users with sensitive skin should adjust wear time according to personal comfort. If your skin is light-sensitive, remove the watch immediately upon discomfort and consult a doctor before wearing it again.
(7) Wearing the ASUS VivoWatch with an overly tight strap can lead to discomfort due to prolonged friction, hinder sweat evaporation, and potentially trigger allergic reactions from mold growth in warm, moist conditions. The right fit is crucial for comfort and accurate sensor performance, ensuring the back cover adheres to your wrist for stable measurements.
• If the strap is too loose, your ASUS VivoWatch may slide, or the sensors may fail to detect your heart rate. Please tighten the strap slightly.
• When the strap is snug but not overly tight, your ASUS VivoWatch should sit comfortably on your wrist, staying in place without sliding and accurately measuring your heart rate.
(8) Tighten the strap during physical activity to prevent movement-related instability. Loosen it afterward to relieve pressure on the skin.
(9) The ASUS VivoWatch 6 is crafted from high-quality materials, including Corning Gorilla® Glass 3 for the mirror surface, reinforced fiber polymer for the watch case, and medical-grade stainless steel for the back cover. The strap combines skin-friendly silicone with medical-grade stainless steel.
(10) Note that the strap material may experience wear or color changes over time due to use and contact with various substances like perfume, lotion, mosquito repellent, or oil stains.
(11) The sensor on the back of the ASUS VivoWatch may become discolored due to substances like sweat, skin oils, and lotions. It is recommended to keep your wrist dry, clean the watch regularly, and avoid direct contact with materials that could cause discoloration. The discoloration of the sensor’s appearance will not affect the watch's functionality, and the sensor will continue to perform its measurements accurately.
(12) How to clean ASUS VivoWatch 6 :
• Use the small brush included in the box to clean the gap between the VivoWatch 6 bottom cover glass sensor and the metal back cover. Try to expose the black gasket completely between the glass and metal.
• Use an alcohol swab or alcohol wipe to remove sweat and dirt.
• Finally, gently wipe off any remaining alcohol with a dry, soft tissue.
