The ZenFone 3 is a cut above other smartphones in the Zen lineup, which clearly shows how much ASUS has improved its smartphone designs over the course of its history. It comes with precision-sculpted glass on both sides, delivering that superb aesthetic and handling through Zen's signature concentric-circle pattern. There's 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on the front of the device, adding up to its design language further.
2016 is an amazing year for tech and gaming industry. Some brands pitted against each other in various categories, which eventually benefited consumers.
A lot of smartphone brands put a lot of their focus on the mid-range category, which – in effect – dissected the latter to cater to Class B and Upper Class C markets.
The Zenfone has definitely matured and this is evident with the new line up of the ASUS Zenfone 3 series. It only took ASUS 3 years from introducing their ground-breaking smartphone line and disrupting the already saturated smartphone market.
The ASUS mobile division spent a good part of 2015 releasing many variants of the ZenFone 2. While this line-up spawned various commendable alternatives, like the highly-popular ZenFone 2 (4GB RAM variant), the ZenFone Selfie, and the battery performance champ with ZenFone Max, the loyal ASUS fans and Android OS enthusiasts are also interested in seeing the next generation of ZenFones that were launched at Computex 2016. Given the long run for the current ZenFone 2 series, this makes the ASUS ZenFone 3 a long-awaited successor to the series.
Now that the Zenvolution event has finally happened with Philippine prices already revealed, I am now posting my review of the ASUS Zenfone 3 which I’ve been using as my main phone for the past 2 weeks. I am reviewing the 5.5-inch variant which has the same specs of the 5.2-inch variant.
