Pre-pandemic, the facility of Carewell Community was full of life everyday. The sound of laughter echoes throughout the S&L building in Makati. Per the tenants in the building, you would not even believe how loud and happy the sounds coming from the Carewell Community office were and you would not have guessed that these came from cancer patients and survivors.

Carewell is a place to share stories about everyone's cancer journey. The institution has enabled both current patients and long-time survivors to connect. Having that connection somehow provides comfort because their fears and apprehensions are assuaged. Even if the types of cancers are different, there are some similarities that create a bond, a family. And with the donated laptops, these connections can somehow be restored.

Today, the halls of Carewell Community are still quiet but are slowly regaining life. Even though it’s not the same as before, they are still connected virtually and now not only within Metro Manila. Thanks to technology, they have grown the community across the whole NCR. Hopefully next time they will be able to help spread hope to conquer the big C throughout the whole country.
