REX Education started out selling second-hand books along Azcarraga street (now C.M. Recto) and went on to become the country’s leading education solutions provider. On top of having 28 retail branches across the Philippines along with a printing arm, the family-owned corporation also provides a comprehensive suite of learning solutions.
Jeanne Marie Fontelera-Tordesillas, a third-generation co-owner and Chief Marketing Officer of REX Education, explained in a virtual interview that the company aims to develop learners in different phases of their lives. “Wherever learning is possible, in whatever phase of your life, whenever there is an opportunity to learn, Rex Education wants to be there,” she added.
LEARNING FROM THE CRISIS
However, with the current pandemic situation, students and educators are restricted from doing the usual setup of face-to-face classroom learning, compromising their access to learning solutions.
Fortunately, REX saw this challenge as an opportunity to fast-forward its digital transformation and adapt to the current set up of their clients.
Internally, REX is also on its way to transforming its processes to an automated system to assist in making work more efficient and more effective for employees, according to Kennth Sy, the Chief Technology Officer of REX Education.
“We want to equip REX, not only in terms of what they’re doing but also how to help them do the things right now,” he shared.
TRANSFORMING THE BUSINESS
At present, REX Education is in the midst of a business transformation as a way to expand further and adapt to the situation that the pandemic has posed.
As fellow advocates of education, ASUS Philippines wants to help REX Education transition seamlessly to digital.
In charge of selecting the technology partner for the business transformation of REX, Sy considered the laptop specs, durability, availability, service, and reach. Ultimately, Rex Education partnered with ASUS for its incredible products and exceptional service.

Currently, ASUS Philippines provides the laptops to the different departments as well as the partner schools of REX Education. These systems provide their users with data on-demand during client interactions or business operations.
To equip their stakeholders throughout the country for digital migration, the company has purchased seven (7) ROG Zephyrus GA502IU-AZ077T and a total of 86 ASUS ExpertBook P2451 laptops since 2020. This year, they have purchased 60 units of ASUS ExpertBook P2451 and are expecting an additional 60 brand-new laptops of the same model plus 10-12 brand-new ROG laptops.
Despite being in the middle of migrating to digital, REX Education is confident that they are on the best path to reaching their main objective of making education available in each Filipino home with the help of the technologies from ASUS Philippines.
