[Phone] Troubleshooting - GPS function does not work
If your GPS is unable to locate or is inaccurate, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Ensure the location services are enabled: Go to Settings > Location > Use location.
2. Move outdoors to an open area (avoid areas with many buildings) and try to receive satellite signals for about 5-10 minutes.
3. Enable the following location services to improve accuracy:
● Improve Location Accuracy: Go to Settings > Location > Location services > Location Accuracy > Improve Location Accuracy. * Note that enabling this may use mobile data, so be aware of any data limits to avoid extra charges.
● Wi-Fi Scanning: Go to Settings > Location > Location services > Wi-Fi Scanning > Wi-Fi Scanning.
● Bluetooth Scanning: Go to Settings > Location > Location services > Bluetooth Scanning > Bluetooth Scanning.
4. Restart your phone.
5. Update your system software to the latest version: Go to Settings > System > System update > Check Update.
6. Enter Safe Mode (press and hold the Power button > press and hold the Power off option > tap OK): If it works in Safe Mode, a third-party app may be causing the issue. Restart your phone and check if the problem persists.
7. Backup your data and restore factory settings.
* Restoring factory settings will remove all apps, settings, and personal information, reverting the phone to its initial state.
* Note:
1. Location accuracy can be affected by the environment. Inaccuracies in specific areas might be due to local conditions, such as elevated roads, narrow alleys, subways, or tall buildings.
2. Tinted glass or other obstructions may affect GPS accuracy.
3. Other electronic devices might interfere with GPS signal reception.
