TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 2, 2022 — ASUS today announced that it has been recognized by the Financial Times, Nikkei Asia and Statista as one of the Climate Leaders Asia-Pacific 2022. The authoritative appraisal considered the operations and outputs of 200 major companies in Asia-Pacific region, concluding that ASUS is the company with the largest total reduction of core greenhouse gas, relative to revenue, between 2015 and 2020 — achieving a remarkable 94.8% reduction.
The list, also recognized ASUS for Asia-Pacific’s second largest reduction of core emissions between 2015 and 2020, relative to revenue, with a 43.2% reduction. The results also mean that ASUS has been judged as delivering the largest reduction of core emissions overall both in Taiwan, and within the technology and electronics sector in Asia-Pacific. This underscores the strong commitment from ASUS to transform today’s world in order to create a sustainable future.
The Climate Leaders Asia-Pacific 2022 methodology
In order to create the inaugural Climate Leaders Asia-Pacific 2022 list, the Financial Times and Nikkei Asia and Statista combined their research, analysis and reporting expertise to scrutinize publically-available emissions data. The prestigious triumvirate used this information to elect the top 200 companies in Asia-Pacific to showcase the highest reductions in emissions intensity. That is, a reduction in core greenhouse-gas emissions relative to revenue, between 2015 and 2020. Reduce 50% of carbon emissions from ASUS global operations centers by 2030. Achieve 100% renewable-electricity use in Taiwan-based operations centers by 2030, and in global operations centers by 2035.

Achieve a 30% reduction in the carbon intensity of key suppliers by 2025.

Ensure each year’s key products have average energy efficiencies that are 30% higher than the ENERGY STAR® standard.
