ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces ROG Strix XF 120 Cooling Fan
TAIPEI, Taiwan, March 17, 2021 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced ROG Strix XF 120, a 120 mm 4-pin pulse-width modulation (PWM) cooling fan that provides ultra-quiet acoustic profiles across a range of performance demands and applications. It delivers the optimal combination of airflow (up to 62.5 cubic feet per minute) and static pressure (up to 3.07 mm H2O), providing flexibility for use in case cooling or static pressure applications, including as a radiator or CPU cooler fan. With an extensive operating range of 250 to 1800 rpm, the fan offers the precision to adjust to as low as 250 rpm, and the fan automatically turns off when set to 0% PWM duty cycle for an ultralow noise profile when handling lighter workloads.
MagLev fan bearing
The fan bearing in ROG Strix XF 120 features 360° Magnetic-Levitation (MagLev) technology, which stabilizes the rotor as it spins and prevents the fan from slanting or swaying. This minimizes friction, reduces noise, and protects the fan from wear and tear over time, delivering exceptional cooling performance, ultra-quiet operation and extended lifespan of up to 400,000 hours.
Aerodynamic design
ROG Strix XF 120 cooling fan is specially designed to maximize volume and control of airflow for optimal performance. Precision-engineered grooves on the fan blades direct and focus air to flow smoothly along the blades for reduced flow separation. This increases fan performance and reduces vortex noise for improved overall acoustics. The angle and curvature of the fan’s frame struts are carefully designed to direct and channel airflow in a unidirectional, highly focused stream, which minimizes turbulence as the focused airflow enhances static pressure. Additionally, the minimized fan hub on ROG Strix XF 120 enables longer fan blades and enlarges the airflow channel, which creates greater airflow for performance gains.
Ultra-quiet acoustic profile
ROG Strix XF 120 operates at no higher than 22.5 dB(A), providing exceptionally quiet cooling performance, and anti-vibration pads and mounts reduce vibrations and prevent rattling. Also, the fan blades and frame are made of 30% fiberglass to reinforce them and prevent warping, which ensures durability, performance and added noise-reduction.
