ASUS Announces End of June 2021 Availability of ProArt Display PA32UCG
TAIPEI, Taiwan, May 26, 2021 —ASUS today announced that ProArt Display PA32UCG will be available on shelves by the end of June 2021.
PA32UCG is the world’s first HDR monitor with a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a 120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR). It features a 32-inch backlit mini-LED 4K panel with 1152-zone local dimming for a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. PA32UCG supports multiple HDR formats — including Dolby Vision®, HDR10, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) — and features quantum-dot technology to deliver exceptional color reproduction with true 10-bit color depth. Its color gamut covers 98% DCI-P3, 100% Rec. 709, 85% Rec. 2020, 99.5% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB color spaces. It also features an industry-leading Delta E 1 color difference for exceptional color fidelity. Calibration can be performed via proprietary ProArt Calibration 2.0 software or using Calman® and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS hardware calibration software. PA32UCG is compatible with third-party hardware calibrators from X-Rite®, Datacolor®, and Klein Instruments.
PA32UCG also offers rich connectivity options via a USB hub, two Thunderbolt™ 3 ports, DisplayPort™ 1.4, two HDMI® 2.0 ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port that supports 4K 120 Hz visuals. The PA32UCG-K model includes the X-Rite i1 Display Pro monitor calibration device.
ASUS ProArt aims to provide the most advanced technologies to power the imaginations of professional creators everywhere. ASUS will be conducting a series of ProArt Masters’ Talks events on June 10, June 30, and July 13, 2021 at 17:00 (GMT). These events are designed to give content creators the opportunity to learn from industry professionals. For these upcoming events, ASUS has invited a tech reviewer, an experienced colorist, as well as a film and commercial director to share their experiences with ProArt PA32UCG. Participants in each session can enter a quiz to win prizes including a ProArt Display PA279CV or ProArt B550-Creator motherboard.

Ultra-realistic and vivid colors in HDR
The 32-inch backlit 4K mini-LED panel in PA32UCG offers 1152-zone local dimming to provide a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It has a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a full-screen sustained brightness of 1000 nits.
PA32UCG supports multiple HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) for unmatched levels of brightness, contrast and colors. When compared to a standard picture, Dolby Vision delivers images with a full range of tones, including highlights that are up to 40 times brighter and black hues that are up to 10 times darker.
PA32UCG supports several HDR10 curves, including the PQ hard clip curve, PQ Optimized and PQ Basic — all to suit the specific needs of content creators and ensure compatibility with existing video streaming services and a growing list of HDR-enabled games.
HLG support enables use with broadcast and satellite TV, allowing users to view and create material for broadcast and satellite TV platforms such as BBC iPlayer, Japan NHK TV, and DirecTV.
HDR Preview also works with video editing software, enabling creators to view their final output for a more streamlined editing process.
Exceptional colors
PA32UCG features quantum-dot technology that delivers a wide color gamut of 98% DCI-P3, 99.5% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709 and 85% Rec. 2020 for video editing and post-production. Together with true 10-bit color depth, PA32UCG provides content creators with a vast color spectrum to play with.
Factory pre-calibration using a new three-scale process guarantees industry-leading color fidelity. The display also undergoes stringent testing using ASUS advanced grayscale tracking technology to ensure smoother color gradations, better uniformity and exceptional color accuracy with a Delta E 1 color difference for the sRGB and Adobe RGB color spaces.
Mini LED panel with wide viewing angles
Most mini-LED monitors have color accuracy issues when viewed from wide, off-center angles, which presents a problem when collaborating with clients or colleagues on color-critical projects. Off-Axis Contrast Optimization (OCO) technology in PA32UCG solves this problem with a compensation layer that controls light transmittance. This technology reduces the halo effect by 80% and enhances the contrast ratio of darker parts of the screen by up to a factor of seven to ensure that on-screen content is displayed accurately to all viewers.
Easy calibration
ASUS ProArt Calibration technology saves all color parameter profiles on the monitor’s internal scaler IC chip, instead of on the PC. The monitor can be calibrated and the look-up table rewritten, allowing users to connect the monitor to devices with different operating systems or applications without needing to adjust settings. Signal distortion between the IC and the LCD optical spectrum is also reduced. The saved color profiles can be easily accessed via the hotkey on the monitor.
Integrated ASUS ProArt Calibration 2.0 technology enables swift and easy adjustments to maintain the color accuracy of ASUS ProArt monitors. It offers SDR and HDR calibration with adjustable brightness, color gamut, color temperature, and other parameters to ensure consistent and precise colors.
ProArt displays are compatible with most major calibrators, including those from X-Rite, Datacolor and Klein. They also work seamlessly with Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional hardware calibration software for fast, easy calibration.
Superfast frame rates
PA32UCG offers up to a 120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) with FreeSync Premium Pro, allowing game developers to create fast-rendering games and conduct quality checks on one display. HDMI 2.1 with 4K 120 Hz support also makes PA32UCG ideal for video editors, enabling them to work with high-quality, detailed visuals at supersmooth frame rates. In addition, it offers rich connectivity options, including a USB hub, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and two HDMI 2.0 ports.
