Having a [ProArt Studiobook] laptop has helped me tremendously because I can take it everywhere I go and use it anytime. Its beast spec creates a smooth experience for me when I'm working on heavy scenes.

Discovering himself
Siew Hong first became interested in drawing when he was a bored kid at home alone, spending his time watching the Animal Planet or Discovery channels. Those shows were packed with inspiration for his drawing, he says. “I’m always fascinated by everything around me, and that has inspired me to develop more interest in design as I grew older. All this knowledge helps me create more meaningful designs for my clients.”
The ProArt advantage
Siew Hong is full of enthusiasm for his ASUS ProArt Studiobook. “The [NVIDIA RTX] graphics card on this laptop is one of its most outstanding features. I tested it on the game Control on the highest setting and everything runs smoothly with ray-tracing switched on!” As well as its performance, he also loves the sleek design and premium materials. “They make it aesthetically pleasing to look at,” he explains. The ergonomics are spot-on too: “It is flexible enough for me to adjust my working position with ease. And the large display is very helpful for work that involves multiple tabs on screen.”
Game on!
With a creative career now spanning over 7 years, Siew Hong is currently a lead concept artist at Passion Republic Games and a guest lecturer at The One Academy. “My portfolio includes several award-winning game titles, and my most recent project is the game GigaBash that we are currently developing at Passion Republic Games.” One of his most renowned projects was a collaboration with Naughty Dog to design The Last of Us Part II, a game that won the TGA Game of the Year award in 2020. He adds that he has also worked for a wide range of game clients including Naughty Dog, Playground Games, NetherRealm Studio, NetEase Games, Tencent, and more.
Overcome your limitations
A creative career attracted Siew Hong because he believes that good design is very important in our lives. “Everything we know, learn, interact, read, or watch has elements of design into it. A bad design can not only cause inconvenience in our lives, but it can also alter our perspective on certain issues”. Siew Hong's thirst for knowledge is tempered by the realization that he doesn't have unlimited time to study everything deeply. “Eventually, I developed a 'touch and go' mentality, and I realized that designing concept art is a good place for me to fully utilize all this extra information”. And his advice to would-be creators? “Stay hungry, stay humble and enjoy the process. A 1% improvement everyday is still an improvement!”
