2022/06/15

Tri-band mesh WiFi system with WiFi 6 and 160 MHz channels delivers faster and more stable WiFi performance for the growing multitude of smart home devices

TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 15, 2022 — Today marked the launch of the ASUS ZenWiFi® XT9, a tri-band mesh WiFi system designed to easily set up a reliable and secure smart home network that can cover up to 5,700 square feet with speeds of up to 7800 Mbps.

Superior speeds

Thanks to the 160 MHz channels that WiFi 6 technology adds to a wireless network, individual devices can get access to much higher speeds than before . Superfast 7800 Mbps speeds make ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 a great choice for whole-home WiFi, where many users may be downloading, streaming, or playing online games through the same internet connection. The tri-band mesh system uses a dedicated WiFi backhaul on the second 5 GHz band for mesh traffic communication, leaving the other bands open to maximize and stabilize WiFi speeds. And the 2.5 Gbps WAN port makes this mesh system compatible with the ultra-fast connections offered by an increasing number of internet service providers. For users who prefer a faster wired network, ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 also offers a LAN aggregation feature that can deliver up to 2 Gbps to a compatible NAS or other high-bandwidth device.

Extensive network coverage

Thanks to a combination of technology that includes a flagship Broadcom WiFi 6 chipset, a 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU, and ASUS RangeBoost Plus RF technology, the ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 mesh system has a range of up to 5,700 square feet, providing users with a seamless WiFi experience when moving around the home. In addition, ASUS AiMesh technology makes it easy for users to expand WiFi coverage by simply adding an extra AiMesh-compatible ASUS router or repeater.

High-caliber security

ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 features multiple layers of protection for all connected devices. First, ASUS AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro™ contains exclusive commercial-grade security through a collection of router monitoring, real-time hardening against network intrusion, and advanced parental controls — with no subscription fee. Second, when users are traveling, the free ASUS Instant Guard mobile app lets them route their internet connection through their home network via an encrypted VPN tunnel. This can make a public WiFi connection such as coffee shop, restaurant or airport much safer to use.

Both of these technologies can be activated with just a few clicks or taps, making it easy to reduce exposure to cyber-attacks.

Easy network management

ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 can be easily managed through the free ASUS Router app or the web browser interface. The ASUS Router mobile app lets users set up the network within just three simple steps and manage an ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 system right from a smartphone or tablet. Users can check the status of the network even if they are away from home, create access for guests, optimize speeds for bandwidth-intensive functions, review potential security issues, and monitor their kids’ online activities.
