If the AiMesh node is already connected to AiMesh router, go to your AiMesh router for firmware update.

[Noun Definition]

AiMesh Router: The first router connects to the modem or to the internet.

AiMesh Node: The other routers connect to the AiMesh router.

FAQ: [AiMesh] How to setup AiMesh system (ASUS Router APP-Android)?

 

 

Method 1:  Update the firmware of your router to the latest version via ASUS Router App. The following screen uses ZenWiFi XT9 (AiMesh node) as an example.

                   Please refer to [Wireless Router] How to update the firmware of your router to the latest version via ASUS Router App?

                  Note: Make sure your router is connected to the Internet.

                  

 

Method 2: You can either Update on WebGUI or Update Manually.

Step1. Connect your computer to the router via wired or WiFi connection and enter your router LAN IP or router URL http://www.asusrouter.com to the WEB GUI.

Step2. Key in your router's username and password to log in.

           

   Note: If you forget the user name and/or password, please restore the router to the factory default status and setup. 

               Please refer to [Wireless Router] How to reset the router to factory default setting?  for how to restore the router to default status.

 

Step3. Click firmware version, you see AiMesh node information of Firmware Update page.

           Note: If you do not see the AiMesh node information of Firmware Update page, check whether your AiMesh node is connected to the AiMesh router.

          

 

Step4. Update on WebGUI or Update Manually.

Update on WebGUI

1). Click Check

     

2). Click Firmware Upgrade. The following screen uses ZenWiFi XT9 (AiMesh node) as an example.

     Note: The [Firmware Update] button appears only when a new firmware version is detected.

     

3). Please wait for a few minutes until the upload is completed.

     

4). Re-login AiMesh router after the firmware is updated. You can find that firmware of AiMesh node is also updated on "Firmware Upgrade" page.

     

 

 

Update Manually (If you haven't updated your router’s firmware for a while, please apply a manual firmware update via Web GUI)

1). Download the latest version of the firmware for your router from the ASUS Website.

     (We use ZenWiFi XT9 (AiMesh node) as an example. You can find the corresponding support page of your router on ASUS https://www.asus.com/support/

      

2). Click Support > Driver & Utility > BIOS & FIRMWARE > Download the latest version file.

      

3). Unzip the file.

     

4). Click Upload.

     

5). Key in AiMesh router username and password to log in.

     

6). Click Upload > Choose the firmware file you want to upload and click [Open] button to upload firmware.

    

7). Please wait for a few minutes until the upload is completed.

    

8). Now the firmware is upgraded successfully. You can find that firmware of AiMesh node is updated on "Firmware Upgrade" page.
