[Armoury Crate] How to Disable the Festive Effects?
If your computer displays the following pop-up, it is part of the Festive Effect lighting feature introduced by Armoury Crate in 2023. Refer to the details below for further information and instructions.
1. Conditions for Festive Effects Activation
The Festive Effect will be triggered under these conditions:
• Armoury Crate version v5.7.3 or later.
• The Festive Effects package has been manually installed.
• The computer is powered on during the following festive periods:
• Halloween (October 27–November 1, 2023; October 27–November 1, 2024)
• Christmas (December 21–December 26, 2023; December 21–December 26, 2024)
• New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2023–January 3, 2024)
• Valentine’s Day February 10–February 15, 2024)
• Olympics (July 23–August 12, 2024)
• Electronic Music Festival (Last week of July 2024)
• Birthday: Based on ASUS membership details; triggered on the birthday and the day before.
• Once the festive effect has been triggered within a specific period, it will not pop up again.
2. How to Enable/Disable Festive Effects
• To Enable: Refer to the activation conditions listed above
• To Disable: A critical patch was released on December 24 to disable this feature. If you still encounter it, follow these steps:
1. To close an active screen effect: Press the Esc key.
2. To disable the Festive Effect feature: Navigate to Aura Sync → Aura Effects → Festive Effects, then toggle the switch to OFF
3. Why Doesn’t the Festive Animation Appear Even When Enabled?
A component update on December 24 removed the Festive Effect feature. If you wish to activate the hardware Festive Aura lighting, follow these steps:
• Confirm your Armoury Crate version is v5.8.5 or later.
• Go to Aura Sync → Aura Effects.
• Select the Festive lighting effect tile.
• Click the "Magic Button" to activate.
4. Why doesn’t my Festive Effects have the "Magic Button?
If you joined after December 24, 2024, and are installing the Festive Effects package for the first time, please note that this feature has been temporarily removed to ensure the best user experience.
