[Troubleshooting] ASUS USB Wireless(Wi-Fi) Adapter FAQs
There are many factors that may cause the USB wireless adapter to not be able to find the wireless network (WiFi), it may be a computer or network problem, if you are experiencing problems with the installation and use of the USB wireless adapter, you can check through the following instructions for simple troubleshooting.
Introduction
A. Install a USB wireless adapter
1. Insert the USB wireless adapter:Insert the USB wireless adapter to your device.
2. Installing Drivers: There are three ways to install them
(1) Plug and play:After the USB wireless adapter is inserted to your device, the operating system will automatically install the corresponding wireless adapter driver, please follow the system prompts to complete the installation of the driver.
If you can't install the driver automatically, you can download it from the ASUS official website and manually install the latest driver.
(2) USB wireless adapter built-in driver file:After the USB wireless adapter is inserted to your device, find the name of the USB wireless adapter in your device's folder and select the operating system you would like install, enter the folder and click [Setup] > [Install] to start installing the driver, please follow the system prompts to your device the installation of the driver.
Note: Some products will come with a driver for the CD or USB flash drive, which is installed as above.
(3) Download the driver file:You can find the latest driver file for the USB wireless adapter on the Official Support | ASUS Global, find your product model and its corresponding driver file through the product list, and download the latest file to your device. Please refer to the FAQ below

3. Complete the installation:After installing the driver, usually to reboot your device, please check the network settings to make sure that the USB wireless card is correctly recognized by your device.
Type and search [ Device Manager ] in the Windows search bar, find your wireless network adapter in Device Manager.
4. Connect to WiFi:After completing the above steps, select your Wi-Fi name and enter the password to connect. Please refer to the FAQ below

1. The computer does not recognize the USB wireless adapter
(1) Check compatibility: You can check the product specifications on the ASUS official website to confirm the computer operating system version supported by the USB wireless adapter.
(2) Check the USB connection:Check that the USB wireless adapter has been inserted into the USB slot correctly and is not loose, please press the plug tightly or re-insert the USB wireless adapter . It may be that the USB is loose or detached, resulting in the USB wireless adapter not being recognized.
(3) Check the USB slot of the computer:Try to insert the USB wireless adapter into another USB slot on the same computer or use another computer to check whether there is a problem with the USB slot.
If you are using other external devices, such as USB hubs, USB extension cables, or adapters, try plugging the USB wireless adapter directly into the USB slot on your computer to see if the same condition exists.
(4) Check the appearance:Check the appearance of the USB wireless adapter for any damaged, broken or worn parts. If there is damage, it may cause the product to have an unstable connection, and it is recommended not to continue using it.
2. There was an error during the driver installation process
(1) Check the device:It may be that the USB is loose or falling off, please try to re-insert the USB wireless adapter. Or try to insert the USB wireless adapter into another USB slot on the same computer or use another computer to check whether there is a problem with the USB slot.
(2) Check the driver:The driver file may be corrupted, you can go to the ASUS official website to download the latest driver and reinstall it. As a reminder, you need to download a driver that matches the version of the operating system of the computer you are using.

3.Unable to find the WiFi signal of the wireless network
(1) Turn off airplane mode:Please check whether airplane mode is turned off, when enabled, airplane mode will disable all wireless connections.

(2) Please check the WiFi signal strength:Confirm whether the distance between your USB wireless adapter and the WiFi signal device (such as a wireless router) is too far, if the distance is too far or there is interference from obstacles, the WiFi signal will be interfered with.
Please shorten the distance between the USB wireless adapter and the wireless router, avoid obstacles or move to a better position to avoid affecting the signal strength due to the signal transmission distance.

(3) Check the Wi-Fi signal device:It is recommended to try to connect to the same WiFi signal with another device (laptop or other mobile phone) to confirm whether there is the same condition.

(4) Try to adjust the wireless (Wi-Fi) channel of the router:If your router uses the same channel as other wireless devices nearby, it may cause interference and prevent you from connecting.
ASUS wireless routers default to [Auto] on wireless channels, and you can manually adjust to other wireless channels.

(5) Check WiFi support:The supported 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz wireless channels in your location will vary depending on the laws and restrictions in that country.
For example, your USB wireless card and wireless router both support 6 GHz, but your country/region is not available for 6 GHz, you may not be able to connect.
((6) Forget WiFi connection:It is recommended to delete the record of not using the wireless network (WiFi) in your computer, and then scan the network and reconnect.

4. Connected to Wi-Fi but not connected to the internet
(1) Try restarting your computer and wireless router:Sometimes when there is a problem with your computer or router, restarting them will fix the problem. Try turning your computer or router off and back on to see if it improves.
(2) Try to update the computer, wireless adapter and router system/firmware version to optimize device performance:Regularly update your system/firmware version to ensure that your device remains in the best condition.
(3) Firewalls and antivirus software: Make sure that your firewall or security software isn't blocking your network connection from functioning properly.
(4) Check the wireless router:There are many factors that may cause you to be unable to connect to the Internet, it may be a problem with your computer or network, please refer to the following links:
