ROG Claymore II can be used as a standalone 80% TKL keyboard or as a 100% full‑size keyboard with the numpad on the right or left, depending on individual preference. Compared to the previous model, Claymore II adopts a new slot‑in design to give the detachable numpad a more secure and robust connection to the keyboard. It also includes conveniences such as customizable keys, a volume control wheel, and a detachable wrist rest for more comfortable typing.
ROG Claymore II can be specified with ROG RX Blue or RX Red optical mechanical switches. First seen in the ROG Strix Scope RX gaming keyboard, these premium switches feature a hollow‑square stem design with embedded RGB LEDs to provide all‑round, per‑key lighting compatible with wireless Aura Sync technology. The design also ensures near‑zero debounce delay to ensure instantaneous activation the moment the key is pressed. The hollow‑square stem and X‑stabilizer mechanism work in unison to provide consistent wobble‑free keystrokes and remarkable durability with up to a 100‑million‑keypress lifespan.
ROG Claymore II offers a 1 ms response time in both wired and wireless 2.4 GHz RF modes, with a bundled USB‑C® cable and a USB‑C‑to‑USB Type‑A adapter. The wide USB‑C bandwidth allows users to fast-charge the keyboard or connect to another device via the passthrough port at the rear of the keyboard.
