Google Meet also provides the option to record meetings. Recorded meetings are saved to Google Drive, so they can easily be shared. Key video meetings can be recorded by the meeting organizer or by anyone in the same organization as the meeting organizer.

*These features are available in the Enterprise edition of Google Workspace and in Google Workspace for Education, and will be available at no additional cost to all customers until September 30, 2020.

Powered by Google’s advanced speech recognition technology, real-time captions* make meetings more inclusive and accessible by reducing barriers to holding meetings between users of different hearing abilities, regardless of whether they are participating remotely or in person.

* Live captions are supported in 80+ languages and require a Gemini in Google Workspace add-on; captions do not appear in recorded versions of meetings.ngs.

    By default, all data in Google Meet is encrypted in transit between the client and Google for video meetings on web browsers, on the Android and iOS apps and in meeting rooms on Google Meet hardware.

  • Counter Abuse

    Google Meet employs an array of counter-abuse protections to keep user meetings safe. These include anti-hijacking measures for both web meetings and dial-ins.

  • Secure Deployment & Access

    Google Meet works entirely in the user’s browser. This means Google does not require or ask for any plugins or software to be installed if using Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge. On mobile devices, Google recommends that users install the Google Meet app.

  • Reliability

    Google’s network is engineered to accommodate peak demand and handle future growth. The network is resilient and engineered to accommodate the recently increased activity on Google Meet.
