Most people who work with a PC spend at least 8 hours at their workstations. Not having an ergonomic setup can take a toll on your posture and physical comfort over time. Read on to learn more about tweaks you can make to your workstation to make it more comfortable during long work hours.

Choose A Suitable Desk

It’s always helpful to switch your posture instead of staying in the same position throughout the whole day. Tables that have adjustable heights either electronically or manually that allow you to work sitting or standing provide more flexibility when it comes to ergonomics.

A comfortable working space should have enough depth. There should be enough space for all the necessities such as your PC or laptop, monitors, accessories, or even printers and so on. Depth also allows enough leg room and space to add other items for comfort such as a leg stool.

Tables with built in cable management can contribute to a more organized, minimalistic table setup. If you have multiple accessories such as plugged in speakers, printers, monitors, and other device connections, choosing a table with somewhere to store cables is ideal for comfort.

Select a Comfortable, Ergonomic Chair

A chair with adjustable height is preferable, so it can be set at the precise height that fits you. Ideally you should be able to rest your feet flat on the ground with your knees at a 90° angle and your thighs parallel to the ground.

Sufficient back support with adjustable tilt can reduce stress on back muscles and pressure on the spine. A chair that includes a headrest contributes to reducing strain in the neck and shoulders.

Pick a chair made with the foam and fabric material suitable to your needs. For instance, chairs with heat dissipation might be desirable if you work in an environment where the air conditioning isn’t always on. For people who work long hours, memory cushioning might be ideal.

Laptops with Ergonomic Design

Carrying a laptop around for long periods of time, especially during commutes, can cause strain on your body. Lighter laptops such as the ASUS Zenbook A14, which weighs less than 1 kilogram, are less of a burden to move around with and are better choices for people who carry their devices often.

ASUS Zenbook A14 has an enlarged ErgoSense touchpad which allows a smooth input experience whether you’re scrolling or moving the cursor. Smart Gesture features built into the touchpad enable intuitive and fast control over volume, brightness, and video playback with just a slide of your fingertip.

ASUS Zenbook A14 comes with the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard – which is as comfortable as its name suggests! The key bounce, key distance, key shape, and key depth on the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard have all been precisely calculated to create a keyboard for ultimate comfort. The 0.1mm dished key caps are made with a subtle curve that’s barely noticeable to the eye but are designed to match the shape of users’ fingertips.

If you’re working with an external keyboard you might consider placing it on a stand to make a slightly tilted angle for typing in a more relaxed wrist position.

The Right Placement

To avoid eye or neck strain, the top of your PC and monitor should stay slightly below eye level and approximately an arm’s length away. For people who need an extra monitor but prefer to reduce neck or body movement between screens, ASUS Zenbook DUO is an excellent option.

Create a Comfortable Environment

Soft lighting can help achieve a comfortable work environment. To avoid direct sunlight, add a table light or some form of shade beside your workstation. For less eye strain, consider a device with an OLED screen , which reduces blue light exposure while offering a more vivid viewing experience.

If you’re easily distracted or bothered by noise, you might want to include headphones with noise reduction in your workstation. AI features in ASUS Copilot+ PCs such as Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation enable more focused, comfortable meeting experiences.

Work Comfortably

Additional accessories such as footrests, a vertical mouse, a monitor arm, a mouse pad with gel support, seat cushioning and more can be considered and added according to your needs.
