(Josiah Alan Brooks) is one of the first people to have hands-on
experience with the new ProArt laptops and he gave us his take
on the lineup. Jazza creates diverse artworks with all sorts of
materials and mediums including clay sculpting, rug tufting, 3D
animating, illustration, and more. He is a successful YouTuber
with 6.5 million subscribers and has built his own community of
creatives over the course of 12 years. We asked Jazza some
questions to gain insight on a creator’s perspective on ProArt
laptops.
New Design and Utility
ASUS: As someone who has experienced our previous generations of
ProArt laptops, what are some changes in the design of the 2024
ProArt lineup that made an impression on you?
Jazza: I appreciate that all three ProArt models have a
different design - rather than all being clamshell models like
before. There’s one that can be used like a traditional laptop,
one that can be flipped all the way around 360°, and one that
you can detach to use as a tablet. They really feel like they
can be take-away devices but still fit into the studio
environment now. I am very tactile as an artist and how
something feels in my hand really matters. These new ProArt
laptops do not feel bulky at all but thin and light instead
while feeling premium to the touch, I am astounded by the
quality.
The ProArt PX13 is has a 360° hinge that enables the laptop to
be used completely flat, like a regular laptop, in tent mode or
in tablet mode. The ProArt PZ13 is a 2-in-1 detachable laptop
that can be used as a tablet and weighs less than one kilogram.
Although the ProArt P16 is a traditional clamshell, it is made
much lighter and compact than the previous version without
compromising performance.
All three ProArt laptops are coated in a sleek Nano Black
coating which is smudge resistant and better at rejecting
fingerprints, maintaining a sharp look. The edges of the laptop
also feature vertical stripes that echo the design of a
professional camera.
AI for Creators
ASUS: Now that AI tools for art are becoming a part of people’s
daily tools, which AI tools on ProArt laptops might you use?
Jazza: I might use AI tools for brainstorming and ideation
before getting started on the actual art project. Sometimes I
also use AI to create elements for the background or foreground
of my YouTube thumbnails, and that also saves me a lot of time.
File management and organization is also something I can see AI
helping me with in the future. The StoryCube app in new ProArt
laptops seems quite cool. As someone who has a career being a
full-time creator, we may produce files over 100 gigabytes per
week. Being able to have that sorted preliminarily would be
immensely helpful.
Inspiration and file management AI apps including MuseTree and
StoryCube are included in new ProArt laptops. Creators can turn
simple sketches into variations of complete artworks or expand
initial ideas through keywords in MuseTree. Scenes can be
automatically identified and categorized and highlight videos
can be AI generated and shared instantly. All this can be
processed locally on new ASUS Advanced AI PCs.
Built for Active Creators
ASUS: What are some features on the new ProArt laptops that you
see yourself using when you’re outdoors?
Jazza: I only use laptops outside of the studio because I use
desktops in my studios. So when I’m shopping for a laptop,
versatility is one of the main factors considered. I need to be
able to switch modes with it quickly, using it in my home, at my
office, or on the go. I love that the ProArt laptops ―
especially the PZ13 ― are thin and light, and that ASUS Pen 2.0
works with all three ProArt models. This allows me to switch
between tasks efficiently ― I could be sketching up a prototype
for a client, editing a video draft, drawing up a thumbnail,
typing a reply to an email, or reviewing a video script – and I
could be doing these things on a plane or whichever place I need
to go.
ProArt PZ13 is a Next Gen AI PC that’s not only ultra-portable
but also highly durable. This 0.85 kg light and 9 mm thin
machine is IP52 rated to withstand dust blowing and water
splashes. It has passed US Military Grade Durability tests
including shock, vibration, humidity tests and more, making it
reliable for even off-roading or highly adventurous creators.
AI at Your Fingertips – Wherever and Whenever
ASUS: How might the new ProArt laptops change your workflow as a
creator?
Jazza: I think creator laptops that are powerful enough to
process AI tools locally are great. I wanted to use the AI
generation in Photoshop on the plane but couldn’t because I
wasn’t connected to the internet. AI tools are something that
I’m starting to get used to and want to use more often, and
being able to access AI features on device allows me to factor
them into my workflow when I need to.
Advanced AI PCs such as ProArt P16 provides 50 TOPS of NPU power
and 321 TOPS of GPU performance, guaranteeing smooth experiences
with AI-accelerated workflows with better efficiency and less
graphic latency. Being able to process files or tasks locally,
thanks to its robust AI processing power, also delivers better
privacy and security.
