ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Partnership with Fortnite Champ Bugha
Fremont, California (June 30, 2021) -
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, professional esports player and the reigning Fortnite World Cup Solo Champion, to bring world-class ROG PCs, laptops and displays to the hands of even more gamers, aspiring streamers, and up-and-coming esports players. As the newest addition to the ROG Stream Team, Bugha will play a key role in ongoing activities with ROG, such as the ASUS “Let’s Build Together” PC DIY campaign, which kicks off on June 30th with new PC building resources and activities featuring Bugha and the rest of the ROG Stream Team.
“It’s been an ongoing goal of ours to create more pathways for gamers of all ages and skill levels to pursue their passions in gaming and esports, especially at a local level,” said Gary Key, Sr. Director of Marketing at ASUS North America. “We’re excited to kick off a partnership with Bugha, who shares our vision of bringing the highest quality, most innovative PC hardware to the hands of gamers everywhere.”
ASUS ROG is more than just hardware. Since 2006, ROG has played an active role in the global gaming community through partnerships at events and with gaming personalities and organizations, with the goal of fostering greater gaming experiences for all. By cementing a new partnership with Bugha and in solidarity with Bugha’s mission in making gaming more accessible, ASUS ROG is excited to explore new opportunities that will make it even easier for gamers to learn, play and compete at their best.
“There’s no debate that gaming and esports can open so many doors for kids all over the world; look at what it did for me,” Giersdorf said, “I’ve got a long history with ASUS ROG stemming back to my early competitive days. I couldn't be more excited to officially partner with them moving forward for some exciting PC gaming opportunities.”
Bugha’s journey with ASUS ROG actually dates back to 2018, where he competed in the Mixer Matchups x Microsoft Store North American Championship held in the one of many ASUS ROG Arenas. Each ROG Arena was designed to make it easier than ever for gamers of all skill levels to unite together in local tournaments across North American Microsoft Store locations. From winning local tournaments to becoming the first ever Fortnite World Cup Solo Champion, Bugha’s esports career demonstrates the benefits of supporting accessible gaming initiatives.
In addition to the new partnership, both Bugha and ASUS ROG also serve as key partners with Gamers Outreach, a for-purpose charity organization that provides equipment, technology, and software through its GO Karts and other programs to help kids cope with treatment inside hospitals through the power of interactive and accessible play.
Beyond creating top-notch hardware for gamers and creators through the ROG product series, ASUS works toward fostering inclusivity among gaming, esports and PC DIY enthusiasts of all ages by supporting community initiatives at educational institutions and among passionate youth who are interested in pursuing STEM and gaming degrees and careers. ASUS is proud to work alongside a number of organizations such as the High School Esports League (HSEL) that share a passion for building a place for gaming and technology among youth as well as offer a world-class gaming ecosystem that allow esports enthusiasts of all levels to participate and grow within their local communities.
To kick off the new partnership with Bugha and in celebration of its PC DIY legacy and community of PC gamers, creators, builders and modders, ASUS is excited to announce the “Let’s Build Together” PC DIY campaign, which will kick off on Wednesday, June 30th. Building PCs, also known as PC DIY, has been an integral part of the ASUS DNA since the launch of its very first motherboards over 30 years ago. Today, ASUS makes most of what PC builders need to create their own system, with a focus on bringing unique designs and innovative features to PC gamers, creators and power users everywhere.
To continue this tradition, the “Let’s Build Together” campaign will highlight all-new custom PC builds for members of the ROG Stream Team, including Bugha, and gamers and fans can get involved by sharing their own tips with the #ASUSPCDIY hashtag on social media platforms. Aspiring builders and those looking to upgrade their current PCs can also kick start their building journey with the new ASUS PC DIY build configurator, which helps users create the best builds for their specific needs, as well as the latest build guides and even more PC DIY content from the ROG Stream Team.
