During CES 2022, ASUS launched the revolutionary Zenbook 17 Fold OLED. And you may have thought, "That's it, there is nothing else that can surprise me in laptop design."

Well, think again.

At CES 2024, ASUS is launching a dual-screen laptop, the new Zenbook DUO is the ultimate productivity beast. It is designed to give users twice as many possibilities by allowing them to work on twice as much screen space, expanding horizons.

Versatile Usage Scenarios

When you first look at the new ASUS Zenbook DUO , you’ll notice it’s not just another laptop: Its body houses two 14-inch ASUS Lumina OLED touchscreens and it comes with a detachable wireless keyboard. The form factor doubles your viewing space — much like an external screen would, except in this case it’s part of the ASUS laptop, so it is compact and easy to transport.

The second embedded screen is great for productivity. You can use it vertically, in a laptop mode — with or without the Bluetooth® keyboard. Without it, a virtual keyboard will appear on the lower screen when you need to type. The virtual keyboard is optimized to give you a smooth and accurate typing experience. You can also use a virtual touchpad by simply tapping the screen with three fingers, or if you prefer, you can operate the laptop with the touch of your finger or a swipe of a stylus.

If you wish to go with the good old familiar clamshell laptop format, you also have that option — simply place the Bluetooth® ErgoSense keyboard on top of the lower screen and use the Zenbook DUO like you would any other clamshell laptop. As a bonus, the lower screen will then turn off to help you save power and extend the battery life. In both the laptop modes, you can use the sleeve* with foldable stand to lift the laptop by 12° for comfortable typing angle.

If you like the vertical duo-screen setup and want to take full advantage of both screens real estate and would rather use a keyboard, simply set up the laptop in dual-screen mode. You can open it at an angle of between 40° and 70° with the built-in kickstand and connect the ErgoSense Keyboard with the pogo pins or Bluetooth® to use the laptop comfortably and have much more viewing space.

You also have the option to prop up the screens horizontally and use the Bluetooth® keyboard in desktop mode. This is a great idea if you are used to working at a desk with an external monitor, but are currently on the go, working somewhere where you have no access to an external display.

And finally, the sharing mode. You can lay the laptop flat with a hinge open at 180° and use it somewhat similarly to a tablet. Then you can choose to mirror the screens and turn one of them upside-down, which comes very handy when trying to show someone what you’re working on during collaboration sessions.

The Zenbook DUO comes with an intuitive smart software that allows you to easily operate the laptop with intuitive gestures, such as activating a virtual keyboard by tapping with six fingers, activating a floating touchpad with a tap of three fingers, tapping the screen with five fingers to maximize the view of currently-active window, or try out the window flicker gesture to easily move content between the two screens with one finger.

Exceptional OLED Visuals — On Both Displays

Both 3K OLED screens come in a comfortable 16:10 aspect ratio. Viewing space is expansive, thanks to ultra-thin NanoEdge bezels that provide a 91% screen-to-body ratio.

Each display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is DisplayHDR™ True Black 500-certified, providing the deepest-possible blacks. The displays are also Pantone Validated to ensure lifelike colors. In addition, the Zenbook DUO displays received both VESA and TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light levels.

Powerful Specifications

If the dual-screen format wasn’t enough of a productivity booster in itself, this laptop is also a powerful machine. Powered by up to the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 processor, the Zenbook DUO delivers high-end mobile performance for smooth multitasking, handling even the heaviest processing without a hiccup. It also features up to 32 GB of memory and up to a 2 TB PCIe® 4.0 SSD. For an ultrafast wireless connection, it offers gigabit-class WiFi 6E as well.

The Zenbook DUO is Intel® Evo™-certified, so you can count on instant wake-up, fast WiFi, and long battery life to keep you productive throughout the day. Plus, it includes a rich lineup of I/O ports, including two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB Type-A, and an audio jack.

AI-Powered Features

The new ASUS Zenbook DUO takes advantage of the latest advancements in AI technologies to make your life easier. For example, the proprietary ASUS AiSense Camera knows when you’re away and enhances your image during video calls. AI noise cancellation further enhances the video-calling experience by clearing out all unnecessary noise from your background.

The new Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 processors available in this laptop come with a dedicated Neural-Network Processing unit, designed specifically to handle AI tasks. In addition to built-in Intel® Arc graphics, the laptop features Microsoft AI solutions — Copilot and Designer. These two tools help with research, designing slide decks, and many more common tasks.

Who Is It for?

ASUS Zenbook DUO is a great dual display laptop for anyone who would appreciate more viewing space on a laptop. It comes users for those who need a new, outstanding laptop for work, life, or the combination of both!

At work, having the two screens in one laptop body comes useful for example during online meetings. On one screen you can have the online call window open while you continue working on the other. Or, see reference materials and your workspace at the same time, without having to switch views between the two.

In everyday life, this comes handy when trying to catch up online. For example, you can be discussing the holidays with your friends or family on one screen while actually looking through tickets and accommodation options on the other.

It’s also super-useful when trying to combine the two. No matter if you’re an actual parent or a pet parent, you may want to have a look at your little one while working to make sure everything is in order. Do that on one screen, while going through your work to-do list on the other.

And all that multitasking space in one compact body that is easy to use anywhere, anytime, without the use of additional devices like an external monitor.
