Fremont, CA (April 16, 2019) - ASUS today announced X509, a lightweight and compact everyday laptop powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 discrete graphics, and featuring a dual storage design. The 15 inch X509 features the two sided NanoEdge display design that provides immersive viewing, and also allows a larger display to fit into a much smaller chassis.

Powerful performance and immersive visuals

ASUS X509 ensures everyday tasks are handled with ease. It is powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics. The dual storage design features up to a 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD, with optional Intel Optane™ memory technology.

The two sided NanoEdge design gives X509 a 7 mm side bezel and an 83% screen to-body ratio for immersive viewing. It is lightweight, too, weighing 1.8 kg respectively.

Reinforced chassis for durability

X509 features metal braces that provide chassis strengthening. Reinforcing underneath the keyboard provides additional stiffness for a much more comfortable typing and touchpad experience. Perpendicular braces along the edge of the chassis work like side impact protection beams in automobiles to protect the hinge joint and internal components.

The HDD features E A R™ HDD shock dampening protection is designed to protect your data from physical impact. Laptop HDDs are generally more susceptible to physical damage compared to SSDs. This active hard-drive protection feature automatically detects shock and vibration across all three axes to effectively reduce the chances of HDD damage.

Designed with user convenience in mind

Accessing X509 has never been even easier or more secure. An optional fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad provides one-touch access with Windows Hello, and the full-size backlit keyboard is perfect for working in dim environments. The keyboard is ergonomically designed with a sturdy one-piece construction and up to 1.4 mm key travel for a comfortable typing experience.

X509 features dual band Wi Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth™ 4.2. The reversible USB 3.1 Type-C™ (USB-CTM 3.1) port has convenient any way up connections and delivers data transfer speeds that are up to 10X faster than older USB 2.0 connections . In addition, this laptop also features USB 3.1 Type-A and USB 2.0 Type-A ports, HDMI output, and a microSD card reader for hassle-free compatibility with current peripherals, displays, and projectors.

A high-quality battery provides all-day autonomy and a lifespan that’s up to 3X-longer than standard lithium-ion batteries. Fast-charge technology enables users to charge a low battery to 60% in as little as 49 minutes. Integrated ASUS Battery Health Charging technology also makes for a safer charging experience, with measures designed to decrease the battery expansion rate during charging to help ensure the battery stays in good condition.

1 Unless otherwise stated, claimed USB transfer speeds are based on theoretical performance. Actual figures may vary in real-world situations.
