This technology is called autostereoscopic 3D (also known as naked-eye 3D) and it is available in select ASUS creator laptops equipped with OLED displays. This technology promises the most immersive viewing experiences to date for laptops. The two creator models launched during CES 2023— ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED and Vivobook Pro 16 3D OLED —are the World’s first 3D OLED laptops. They are aimed at 3D designers and other 3D content creators.

To deliver the 3D image effect, ASUS uses lenticular-based autostereoscopic technology — a display method that shows the viewer a different set of pixels to the left and right eye simultaneously.

Working in coordination with the lens layer embedded into the OLED display, an eye-tracking camera on top of the laptop detects eye position and optimizes the images projected to the viewer. This is what allows the user to see in 3D.

With this technology, users can easily switch between the 2D and 3D views at any time.
