How to adjust the Memory Allocation Management of ASUS notebook?
1. Memory Allocation Management:
Memory Allocation Management: Integrated into the CPU of ASUS computers, the iGPU (Integrated Graphics Processing Unit) differs from dedicated graphics cards, which possess their own video memory (VRAM), whereas the iGPU shares a portion of system memory (RAM) with the system. Through our memory allocation feature, customizable options are unlocked, allowing you to adjust the memory capacity of the iGPU (Integrated Graphics Processing Unit). This ensures optimal utilization of memory resources, enhancing performance in gaming, creative tasks, and artificial intelligence applications.
If you encounter the following scenarios, this feature may be beneficial for you:
- You wish to increase VRAM for higher resolution in games.
- You wish to increase VRAM to reduce waiting times in functions such as image rendering.
- Errors occur when launching programs (e.g., games) due to insufficient VRAM, prompting an alert.
For instance, when attempting to launch certain games, you may receive an error message stating, "Your system specifications seem to fall short of the game's minimum requirements. Please check your hardware and GPU settings," along with "Detected available graphic memory is less than the required amount. Increasing VRAM allocation will enable your game to launch successfully."
2. Supported Devices:
Memory Allocation Management supports ASUS notebooks such as ASUS Vivobook S 14/15/16 OLED (S5406MA, S5506MA, S5606MA, S5406SA, S5606CA, M5406UA, M5506UA, M5606UA, M5406WA, M5506WA, M5606WA). Please go to ASUS Global for more details.

3. Supported Systems:
MyASUS 4.0.6.0 & ASUS System Control Interface 3.1.24.0 and above are supported.
4. How to Set VRAM Allocation:
In MyASUS, Click ①[Device Setting], Click ②[General], click ③[Power & Performance], find ④[Memory Allocated to GPU], and click ⑤[Shared Memory Size] to select the memory size you want.
5. Disclaimer:
- If you have previously adjusted the VRAM allocated to the iGPU, it may affect system memory access, potentially causing system lag. Lowering VRAM allocation can free up more system memory for background processes, addressing this issue.
- For computers with specifications of 16GB or less, it is not recommended to allocate more than 4GB of memory to VRAM, as it may cause system lag.
- The degree of improvement for various applications may vary depending on the application.
- Whenever you reallocate VRAM configuration, the system requires a reboot, which is normal.
