ASUS have put a consumer-friendly sheen on this, with easy setup, security audits and online guides, but if you drill down its feature set is unrivalled amongst production firmware on consumer rounters.

The DSL-AC68U is a strong contender with great all round performance and extensive options. You'll definitely pay for this privilege, but it's one I'd be happy to outlay for.

Taken as a whole though, the DSL-AC68U does a great job of integrating enthusiast pleasing features with respectable performance and friendly usability. This is a great one for demanding home networkers who can use the extra features.
