Overview
Based in Toronto, Canada, Total e Integrated Inc. focuses on delivering dynamic CRM for various industries. In 2004 they launched the Total e Golf club management software suite, a product that has since grown to become a leading golf business technology throughout Canada and the United States. Clients from small 18-hole golf courses to large multi-course retirement communities have adopted it. The Total e Golf range of software products includes tee time management software, Pro Shop POS software, food and beverage management software, event management software, golf marketing management software and finance and accounting software. All are designed to run on the company’s newly launched Total e Golf tablet. on the company’s newly launched Total e Golf tablet.
The opportunities
Traditionally, golf courses needed bulky PC desktops and POS terminals to process payment and manage operations, creating inefficiencies for employees. Food and beverage cart staff relied on pen and paper and had to manually input the data at the end of their shift, resulting in inaccuracies. When taking orders, restaurant servers had to rush between customers and the kitchen to communicate orders, resulting in longer wait times. At arrival, golfers had to check in at the clubhouse before they could tee off. Golfers also had to endure the excessive noise created by headsets and walkie-talkies which were used by employees to communicate from the course to the clubhouse. Total e Integrated wanted to introduce a platform for golf clubs to implement that had the power to run Total e Golf software without compromising the portability staff members needed to work from anywhere on the golf course.
The outcomes
On June 23, 2011, Total e Integrated launched the Total e Golf tablet, based on the ASUS Eee Slate, at Coppinwood Golf Club. Coppinwood Golf Club is the first course to make the switch and run the entire Total e Golf software suite on a tablet platform. Equipped with an Intel® Core™ i5-470UM processor and Windows® 7 compatibility, the 12.1” Eee Slate delivers the power needed to run the Total e Golf management software platform and applications such as Microsoft Office. Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity along with a portable form factor allow Coppinwood Golf Club employees to communicate more effectively and instantaneously across the entire operation and process payment wirelessly from anywhere on the course. Coppinwood Golf Club uses the tablet to process payment on the beverage cart, check golfers in with the starter at the first tee, collect customer information as golfers wait to tee off, and send orders from the tableside to the kitchen, streamlining operations. Employees use the tablet to communicate with each other, eliminating the excessive noise created by the formerly used headsets and walkie-talkies, and creating a more enjoyable experience for golfers. By integrating the tablets into their business, Coppinwood Golf Club has been able to better service clients and increase sales opportunities.
