As the ninth largest banking group in the world and one of the largest banks in Australia, it is a leading provider of integrated financial services, and its list of services includes retail, institutional, and investment banking, as well as fund management.

The opportunities

The bank opened the doors of its flagship branch in Brisbane in 2010. Occupying more than 3,000 square meters, the two-storey branch featured self-serve kiosks, a café, seminar rooms, and designated areas for business, retail, and private banking customers. The self-serve kiosks featured AiO PCs that allowed branch visitors to browse foreign exchange rates, financial products, and make appointments with the bank’s financial specialists.

The outcomes

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia implemented their own software onto the first batch of ASUS ET2400INTS AiO PCs. During the initial test phase, ASUS Australia worked closely with the bank until the program met the bank’s stringent quality requirements. The bank was happy with the prompt support offered by ASUS Australia and the quality and performance of the AiO units deployed at their Brisbane flagship branch.

Overview

DAB Bank, Germany’s first discount broker, was founded in 1994 and was listed on the bourse in 1999. DAB Bank is a subsidiary company of Hypovereinsbank and a member of UniCredit. Its core business concentrates on funding in the private and commercial sector and employs some 1179 employees.

The opportunities

DAB Bank used to rely on 400 multi-monitor workstations.
In order to achieve cost-effective, maximize space, and increase energy-efficiency, a rethink of their IT environment was in order.
The pre-existing contract with their current supplier was no longer cost-efficient; while the current desktop PC workstations with dual LCD displays were taking up too much space given that more space-saving solutions like the ASUS EeeBox PC were available.
In addition, the regular desktop and non-LED displays are not as energy efficient as other solutions on the market as well.

The outcomes

DAB Bank required an IT solution which addressed all of its concerns. It looked for a new partner and found ASUS. They selected the ASUS VW226TL display which features a height-adjustable stand and provided the quality and features that were on par with their current solution, but at a lower price point. DAB Bank also selected the EeeBox EB1012P. Today, every DAB Bank workstation features two ASUS displays and an EeeBox PC. The introduction of ASUS systems is also paving the way for the bank to phase in ASUS notebooks.
