ASUS Republic of Gamers Presents Second and Third Legs of 2017 Join The Republic: Community Challenge

Second leg to take place at PAX West in Seattle, US, and third leg commences at DreamHack Masters in Malmö, Sweden

TAIWAN, Taipei, August 10, 2017 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today presents the second and third Nordics) legs of the 2017 Join the Republic: Community Challenge (JTR:CC), which will take place at PAX West in Seattle, US, and at DreamHack Masters in Malmö, Sweden at the beginning of September.

Second leg: North America

The second leg of JTR:CC will be hosted at PAX West 2017, a repeat of last year’s successful event where thousands of gamers competed for a spot in the North American team. Joining the event as captain for the second year running will be Erik “fl0m” Flom. After last year’s early exit in the Grand Finals, Erik is excited to get another shot at the title. The Auditions will commence when the event's doors open on Friday, September 1, and the final team will be selected on Sunday, September 3. All the action can be found at the ASUS ROG booth on the main floor of PAX West 2017.


Third leg: Nordics

For the third leg, JTR:CC will make its inaugural appearance at a DreamHack Masters event, which is a premier CS:GO tournament with fans attending from all over the Nordic region. During two action-packed days gamers can visit the ROG booth at Dreamhack Masters Malmö to showcase their skills to the appointed captain, Adam "Friberg" Friberg. Four gamers will be selected to join Adam's team for the Bootcamp and Grand Final stages. Adam recently parted ways with NiP Gaming after five years of successes, including winning a major and an 80+ win streak during the early competitive days for CS:GO. Known to be “master of the banana” Adam has won the heart of the global CS:GO community and is a respected gamer globally. It is a great honor that he has decided to serve as captain for this year’s edition of JTR:CC. Last year, Adam's then stand-in teammate Maikel “Maikelele” Bill served as captain during the Audition and Grand Final.
