ASUS Republic of Gamers Embraces AI: Transcending the Limits of Gaming and Creation
TAIPEI, Taiwan, January 9, 2024 —ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced its 2024 laptop lineup, including a completely redesigned Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 featuring all-aluminum and ultra-sleek chassis designs. This year also marks the addition of brand-new Intel®, AMD, and NVIDIA® silicon with powerful AI acceleration features built-in, enabling gamers, creators, and engineers to level up their gaming or workflow higher than ever before. The ROG Strix family has also been revamped, with both the SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 now offering Nebula HDR panels featuring Mini LED backlights with over 2,000 dimming zones, marking the first time a Nebula HDR display has been available in an 18-inch form factor.
A new era of computing, with artificial intelligence at its core
The AI revolution has arrived. No longer just a cloud-based technology, the 2024 ROG laptop lineup features the latest CPUs and GPUs from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA with AI acceleration built-in, enabling seamless use of the latest technology locally on the machine. From Microsoft Copilot in Windows, an everyday AI companion across many Windows 11 apps, to video conferencing tools like dynamic backgrounds and automatic gaze correction, to rendering technology like NVIDIA DLSS and Frame Generation, AI is here to stay.
Brand new processors from Intel and AMD not only boast the latest in AI advancements, but improved performance and power efficiency, giving users better experiences in all their most used applications. NVIDIA RTXTM Laptop GPUs are packed with specialized AI Tensor Cores enabling unmatched AI performance in creative apps, ultra-efficient productivity, blistering-fast gaming, and more.
Brand new Zephyrus laptop designs
The Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 have both received a complete redesign for 2024, becoming thinner and lighter than ever. Now sporting an all-new Slash Lighting array across the lid, gamers can easily reflect their unique style with customizable lighting patterns and ensure that their machine never looks like anything else in the room. Available in either the traditional Eclipse Gray or the all-new Platinum White, the premium matte finish of these machines simply oozes luxury. With the Zephyrus G14 weighing in at just 1.5 kg and 1.59 cm thick, and the Zephyrus G16 weighing 1.85 kg at 1.49 cm thick, these machines redefine the limits of thin-and-light performance. Both models are shipped with three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, providing access to a library of hundreds of high-quality games.
In addition, both the Zephyrus G14 and G16 are the first ROG laptops to feature a Nebula Display with an OLED panel. ROG is also proud to announce that they are leading the market with one of the first G-SYNC OLED displays available on a gaming laptop. ROG collaborated with NVIDIA and Samsung Display to refine the refresh rate and sync the processes of this panel, making this previously impossible feature available on a gaming laptop for the first time. This display increases the pixel emission rate to 960 Hz, far higher than a standard OLED panel. No expense was spared to make the Zephyrus G14 the ultimate 14-inch gaming laptop.
The 2024 Zephyrus G14 comes equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen™ 8000 Series processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU for the perfect pairing of portability, power efficiency, and gaming prowess. To keep cool under pressure, the Zephyrus G14 features Thermal Grizzly liquid metal on the CPU, a tri-fan cooling solution, and 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans™, bringing incredible gaming and content creation performance in a supremely thin-and-light laptop chassis. Raising the bar even higher, select models of the Zephyrus G16 feature an Intel Core™ Ultra 9 processor 185H and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. ROG Strix gets new CPUs and ROG Nebula HDR Displays
This year marks the introduction of the first 18-inch ROG Nebula HDR Display. HDR content and games have never looked better thanks to the arrival of the 2024 Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18, with both models offering upgraded Mini LED panels now boasting over 2,000 discrete dimming zones and 1,100 nits of peak brightness. This increased density coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine minimizes blooming and haloing even in challenging scenes, giving the Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 incredibly vivid HDR performance.
While the ROG Nebula HDR panels exclusive to the Strix SCAR line are truly spectacular, all the displays available in the 2024 Strix family are visually stunning. Each model offers a 2.5K 240 Hz refresh rate panel with a less than 3 ms gray-to-gray response time, giving gamers an exceptional visual experience. For further immersion, these panels have an extra tall 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. No matter which Strix machine a gamer chooses, they will have a panel that will make all their games and content more vivid and immersive than ever before.
