Whole-home mesh networking system uses the latest Broadcom WiFi 6E technology for unprecedented capabilities, efficiency and reliability

TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 21, 2021 — ASUS today announced ZenWiFi ET8, a groundbreaking WiFi 6E mesh networking system designed to deliver seamless, high-performance WiFi to the entire home.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 is the mesh networking solution to today's device-dense households, bandwidth-hungry content and over-congested frequency bands. ZenWiFi ET8 incorporates Broadcom WiFi 6E technology, featuring a new 6 GHz frequency band with up to seven extra 160 MHz channels that massively increases device capacity and reduces network latency . As the 6 GHz band is exclusive to WiFi 6E devices, it's ideal for an interference-free backhaul connection, and users also have the choice of using wired Ethernet for backhaul. ZenWiFi ET8 offers protection both inside and outside the home. Outside the home, ASUS Instant Guard makes any public WiFi connection secure using a remote VPN connection to ZenWiFi ET8. The ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 system consists of a matched pair of attractively styled ASUS AXE6600 routers, featuring WiFi 6E technologies to deliver superfast, reliable and secure WiFi connections. ZenWiFi ET8 is fully backwards compatible with all existing WiFi standards, and provides a total combined bandwidth of up to 6600 Mbps — up to 2.2X faster than tri-band WiFi 5 AC3000 routers.²

ZenWiFi ET8 supports the newly licensed 6 GHz frequency band, which is reserved exclusively for WiFi 6E devices, giving them ultrafast, congestion-free connections. The 6 GHz band is also ideal for backhaul connections between the WiFi 6E nodes. ZenWiFi ET8 offers flexible backhaul options, using WiFi or wired Ethernet: the router intelligently chooses the most reliable method, based on connection quality. If the user prefers, they can also manually choose the type of backhaul connection.

WiFi 6E dramatically increases network capacity, with up to seven extra 160 MHz channels on the 6 GHz band. This allows many more device connections, while reducing bandwidth congestion. The 6 GHz WiFi 6E band operates without Dynamic Frequency Selection, a feature that prevents interference with things like air traffic control radar, so devices can connect instantly without the delays imposed by DFS.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 features ASUS Instant Guard to secure free public WiFi connections in coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, airports. With just a click, Instant Guard creates a private VPN data tunnel to the VPN server on ZenWiFi ET8 , providing the safest possible public WiFi connection for the user.

ZenWiFi ET8 includes free lifetime network security with ASUS AiProtection Pro, powered by Trend Micro. Regularly updated security signatures ensure that protection is always up to date. AiProtection Pro with Advanced Parental Controls provides an extra layer of security for personal data for families, or for business data when working from home.

Easy to set up, easy to manage

ASUS ZenWiFi ET8 can be set up and configured by anyone, even those with limited technical knowledge. The easy three-step setup procedure using the free ASUS Router app allows users to get their whole-home WiFi network up and running in just a few minutes. Setup is a one-time process, with automatic synchronization of all nodes in the package. Because each router uses AiMesh technology, the network coverage can be extended even further using any AiMesh-enabled ASUS router.

Advanced users can tailor their WiFi network configuration to their needs: they can choose a single SSID name for the entire network for seamless roaming, or assign individual SSID names to each frequency band.
