TAIPEI, Taiwan, February 25, 2021ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the next stage of an ongoing collaboration with acclaimed artist, DJ, and music producer, Alan Walker, with an original video featuring Walker’s new single «Fake A Smile» featuring Salem Ilese. ROG and Walker share an optimism for the future of gaming, technology, and the creator community at large that the new video helps illustrate. Featuring expansive views of dusty, dystopian worlds, this video continues the futuristic visual storytelling seen across all of Alan Walker’s projects. Norwegian director, Aksel Hennie, melds sci-fi aesthetics with electro house beats that highlight the uplifting melody by Alan Walker.

The video follows one young boy’s journey from loneliness to acceptance, conveying the power of finding communities that welcome, understand, and value everyone. ROG and Walker both embrace this perspective when it comes to gaming and technology. That philosophy drives ROG to create a wide variety of devices, empowering all artists, creators, and gamers to work and play at their best. Alan Walker had the following to say about his partnership with ASUS Republic of Gamers:

“Partnering with ASUS has been a great experience for me, especially because I really like their brand and products. As a music producer and also an avid gamer, the G14 laptop is perfect for me to work on while I’m on the go. For this commercial, it was also amazing to work with the Norwegian actor and director Aksel Hennie, who I’m a big fan of. ASUS and I are also working on some exciting stuff for 2021, which I’m looking forward to unveiling.”

This video is the latest part of an ongoing collaboration between ROG and Alan Walker, first announced in June 2020. As part of the initial project kickoff, ROG created a custom Alan Walker lighting effect for the Zephyrus G14 AniMe Matrix™ LED display, which can be seen in video. Walker’s custom AniMe Matrix animation is available for all Zephyrus G14 devices. Additional behind-the-scenes content showing how this video and shared vision was created will be released later this year.
