ROG Masters 2017 Regional Finals APAC Conclude Successfully with Unprecedented Team Participation

36 professional and community teams from 11 countries competed in the LAN event in Manila, Philippines


TAIPEI, Taiwan, November 1, 2017 —ASUS Republic of Gamers successfully presented yet another action-packed esports tournament last weekend (October 26-29, 2017), when the ROG Masters 2017 Regional Finals APAC competition unfolded at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, Philippines. The participation of 36 world-renowned professional teams such as Execration, TNC and Grayhound —as well as community teams representing the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Australia — drew 7,000 Dota 2 and CS:GO fans to the four-day regional event. Rex Lee, ASUS General Manager for APAC and ASUS Chief Marketing Officer, stated: “For more than a decade ROG has been providing the most innovative hardware to gamers worldwide, and we are proud to provide seasoned pros and aspiring amateurs the opportunity to live their esports dream on the ROG Masters stage.” “In addition, Regional Finals APAC is the largest offline tournament with the largest number of participating teams in esports history. With an overall participation of over 6,000 teams from 35 countries, ROG Masters 2017 has seen an incredibly diverse roster of teams competing for a total prize pool of US$500,000. Through the fierce competition of the Regional Finals APAC, the four victors — Grayhound and 5 Power Club for CS:GO and Execration and WG.
