Palm-sized projector features HDMI / MHL input for full compatibility with PCs, smart devices, gaming consoles, and media streamers

ASUS today announced ZenBeam E1, a pico projector capable of projecting TV-sized images measuring up to 120in diagonally. ZenBeam E1 features a HDMI / MHL port and is designed to be compatible with a wide range of devices ranging from PCs, smart devices, gaming consoles, and media streamers. A built-in 6000mAh rechargeable battery provides up to five hours of projection time and allows users to use ZenBeam E1 as a power bank to charge their mobile devices.

The pico projector market is expected to grow thanks to its compatibility with mobile phones and tablets. According to IT research firm BCN, ASUS was the top mobile projector (under 1kg) brand in the Japanese market in 2015. In addition, the ASUS S1 projector was consistently a top-three best seller in the North American pico projector market throughout 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, according to PMA Research’s Retail Projector Tracking Service.

Compact, award-winning design

The stylish ZenBeam E1 weighs just 307g and has ultra-compact palm-sized dimensions measuring just 110 by 83 by 29 mm. It has an understated Zen-inspired design — its unibody aluminum-alloy chassis features a lens cap with a spun-metal finish, and smoothly-sanded diamond-cut edges. ZenBeam E1 recently won a 2016 iF Design Award and 2016 Red Dot Design Award.

Projecting bright and crisp WVGA images

ZenBeam E1 has a bright 150-lumen Eco-LED light source with a 30,000-hour lifespan that helps reduce maintenance costs. In addition, ZenBeam E1 has instant on/off capabilities since the Eco-LED light source requires almost no warm up or cool down time. Zenbeam E1 has a 100% NTSC color gamut, and features DLP® IntelliBright™ technology which intelligently boosts image brightness and contrast by up to 30%, while at the same time lowering power consumption by up to 50%.

ZenBeam E1 has native WVGA (854 x 480) resolution and accepts Full HD 1080p video files. Its 1.4:1 short-throw-ratio lens helps it project images measuring 15in to 120in diagonally at close distances, so it’s great for indoor and outdoor use. ZenBeam E1’s HDMI port makes it compatible with PCs and notebooks, game consoles, media streamers, compute sticks like ASUS Chromebit and ASUS VivoStick, and MHL-enabled mobile devices. It can even charge MHL-compatible mobile phones and tablets while simultaneously projecting content.

Cable-free projection, auto keystone correction and unrivalled audio

ZenBeam E1 has a built-in rechargeable 6000mAh battery that provides up to five hours of cable-free projection time. It also doubles as a power bank to charge mobile devices on the go.

Auto keystone correction detects ZenBeam E1’s orientation and corrects distorted images that result from angled projections so users get to enjoy perfect projections every time. For audio, it has an ASUS SonicMaster-enhanced speaker for exceptional sound delivery.
