ASUS Announces ZenFone Max
All-new smartphone with incredibly-long-lasting 5000mAh battery that exceeds every expectation, plus a built-in power bank for on-the-go charging convenience
ASUS
today announced ZenFone Max (ZC550KL), an expectation-subverting smartphone
with an incredibly-long-lasting, high-capacity 5000mAh capacity lithium-polymer
battery that provides up to 38 days of standby[1] for an unprecedented amount of mobile
freedom — plus a built-in power bank that keeps other devices topped up with
charge.
The latest
addition to the enormously popular ZenFone family also sports a high-definition
5.5in IPS display covered with next-generation Corning® Gorilla®
Glass 4 for the ultimate protection, plus ultra-fast laser auto-focus for
point-and-shoot simplicity and total clarity in just 0.03 seconds
ZenFone
Max is as slim as 5.2mm, powered by a powerful quad-core, 64-bit Qualcomm®
Snapdragon™ 410 processor, features LTE Category 4 for fast mobile-download
speeds up to 150Mbps, and is available in two classic colors to complement
casual dress or business attire — Pure White and Osmium Black.
Ultimate energy: Groundbreaking up to 38 days of standby with 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery
ZenFone
Max’s sleek frame conceals a monster battery — a 5000mAh cell custom-crafted
from lithium-polymer to pack the maximum energy into the minimum space.
With this
powerful cell and energy-efficient processor inside, ZenFone Max creates new
perspectives on what a smartphone can do. Compared to the leading competitor’s
flagship smartphone, ZenFone Max’s 5000mAh battery offers 2.3X-better talk time
and up to 2.7X as much time spent browsing the web. This translates to up to
37.6 hours of high-clarity calls[2] and up to 32.5 hours of surfing2 — enough energy for days
of real-world work and play.
And, with
intense power-management to ensure minimal depletion, ZenFone Max is able to
deliver up to 38 days of standby time — or well over a month away from mains electricity.
Ultimate convenience: Built-in power-bank capability to charge other devices on the go
ZenFone
Max has another seriously-convenient trick hidden up its sleeve, doubling as a go-everywhere
power bank. With 5000mAh power capacity packed into its sleek frame, ZenFone
Max has more than enough energy to boost or fully charge other devices — so
it’s able to turn into a power bank when it’s time to top up another gadget.
Using the
feature is as quick and simple as connecting a second device to ZenFone Max’s
micro-USB port using a USB on-the-go (OTG) cable and sitting back, as ZenFone
Max will do the rest.
Ultimate display: 5.5in IPS HD panel protected by latest-generation Corning Gorilla Glass 4
ZenFone
Max has a beautiful 5.5-inch IPS display protected by the latest Corning
Gorilla Glass 4 for unrivalled scratch-resistance, strength and everyday
durability. Underneath is a 1280x720 HD IPS display that offers wide 178-degree
viewing angles, and a fantastic 267ppi pixel density that renders every image
in eye-delighting detail.
Corning
Gorilla Glass 4 is the latest ingenious creation from the world-renowned
Corning. ZenFone Max’s Gorilla Glass 4 display offers twice (2X) the
drop-damage resistance of its predecessor, a 2.5X increase in retained strength
and is 85% less likely to break in daily use — making it safer and stronger
than ever before.
Ultimate speed: 13MP PixelMaster camera with ultra-fast 0.03-second laser auto-focus
ZenFone
Max’s 13MP PixelMaster camera has an f/2.0-aperture lens that captures
stunning, high-resolution photos with zero shutter lag. The industry-leading
Low Light mode employs pixel-merging technology to capture up to 400%-brighter
photos at night or in low-light scenes — all without the need for a flash.
Backlight (Super HDR) mode sees clearly through daytime shadow, while Super
Resolution mode captures detailed images at resolutions of up to 52MP.
ZenFone Max's
rear camera also has lightning-speed laser auto-focus technology for the
fastest possible clarity. Its laser beam measures distances in just 0.03
seconds for near-instant focus, even in low-light conditions. The laser
auto-focus even accelerates close-up photography, compensating for the extra
distance created by the lens receding during framing.
