TAIPEI, Taiwan, May 17, 2022 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced SCAR Runner, a standalone first-person parkour game. Available as an expansion of ROG CITADEL XV, SCAR Runner follows the story of X, who is in a race against time to recover critical information. This title also ties in with the physical chassis of the new ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE gaming laptop, with clues hidden on the laptop itself.
Mind the gap
Set in Goemon City, a thriving metropolis with a criminal underbelly, gamers must traverse this urban landscape to find out what the character PKD so desperately needs to share with ROG. Gamers will need quick reflexes to safely cross the rooftops and industrial zones in time. A series of puzzles hold the true key to reaching PKD before he disappears, if gamers can unlock the codes.
Blurring reality
SCAR Runner is being released in tandem with the ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE, a flagship gaming laptop with unique ROG styling on the chassis. Gamers will find clues to help them solve in-game puzzles, hidden in plain sight beneath the invisible ink on the SCAR 17 SE. This unique pairing of virtual and physical exemplifies ROG’s goal to bridge the gap between gaming and real life.
